Steve Govern is Art Director at Kleidon & Associates in West Akron. He’s been a member of the AAF-Akron Board for six years, serving as ADDY Co-Chair, ADDY Chair, Vice President, and now chapter President.
“I joined AAF-Akron to branch out to other creatives and learn more about the advertising industry,” Steve explains. “AAF-Akron brings tremendous value from education to talent retention in the Greater Akron region.”
Steve was eager to become a chapter leader. “I want to bring fresh ideas from a young creative perspective. I want to continue the amazing work that former presidents before me have done.”
His goal this year is “to get our students more involved in what we do. Many students don’t realize how big of an impact this organization can have on their career.”
AAF-Akron is always looking for new ways to bring more value to members, Steve says, including a new, innovative title sponsor package. “This package allows a company to sponsor the full year’s worth of events for AAF-Akron, including our main event, the ADDYs. Our first title sponsor was TKM Print Solutions; it gave them plenty of exposure and we’ve had great results.”

When he’s not busy working with clients or AAF-Akron, Steve enjoys the outdoors and Cleveland sports, especially the American League Champion Cleveland Indians. “I like kayaking, camping, and hiking, video games, my two dogs, Griffey and Dingo, long walks on the beach, and supporting my Cleveland sports teams.”
